Let me begin by
saying that a basic workout does NOT need to boring and should
not be looked at as insignificant. It is my understanding that
building a solid
foundation is the most important aspect of exercise
and working out.
Having a good, solid foundation is the platform from which all lasting
results can be reached. Foundational exercises aim to bring a balance
to the body by helping to eliminate postural problems, muscle
imbalances, and chronic pain, which then allows the body to move with
greater grace and flexibility. As these issues are being dealt with,
you will notice staggering differences in the natural way your body can
move. Getting your body to move more naturally and without inhibition
or pain will also significantly increase your fat burning results and
improve your strength and power. In other words, without going through
a great basic workout and fixing any problems or weaknesses,
you cannot get great results!
Unlike most other programs, we strongly believe that basic workouts should NOT be boring or monotonous. In fact, a well thought out, basic workout is not only challenging but a great deal of fun. It provides many different exercises designed to build a solid foundation by strengthening each and every are of the body in order to achieve a balance. Remember, we are only as strong as our weakest link. If we attempt to avoid the weak areas of the body, we slow down the rate of fat loss, muscle growth, and speed up the rate of pain, stiffness and injury. And of course, motivation levels drop if we fail to see results. Essentially we plateau, get discouraged, causing us to workout less, thus getting even worse results. It becomes a perpetual downward spiral that eventually ends in giving up.
The good news is, these problems do not exist when you begin exercising the correct way. Think of cutting massive amounts of time off the goals you have for yourself.
