A Big Workout Secret for dropping Unwanted Pounds
It always is amazing to be a member at a gym and watch the same people working hard doing the same exercises day in day out, yet making almost no progress. In this day and age, you would think that most people would know, at the very least, how to break plateaus, lose weight, and how to put on lean muscle. Unfortunately, there are so many conflicting opinions about these subjects, it is difficult for the average person to wade through the muck and find out what works best for them.
From an exercise perspective, there are literally hundreds of different "weight loss" routines and it is difficult to know what works and what doesn't. Each makes its claim to be the new breakthrough, giving the fastest results with the least amount of effort. Each makes its claims to be the best, the one that will work under any circumstances, for anyone.
Unfortunately, most people end up sticking to what is familiar and doing the exact opposite of what they should be doing. They read something in a magazine, adapt it into the routine and follow that routine until the next "new" idea comes into print. This is a very difficult psychological block that must be overcome because the more you do a set routine, the harder it becomes for you mind to conceive of getting results any other way. (Our favorite example is men that come into a gym and do bench press first almost every single time. It becomes almost impossible for them to believe that they are getting a good workout without doing bench press).
There may not be any easy answers, but there is a way to cut months off any goal you would like to achieve. Vary your workouts or change what you do when you go to the gym or exercise. Changing what you are doing for exercise at home, outside or at the gym is one of the best, fastest ways to cut that unwanted fat. The reason for this is that the body never has time to adapt to a new workout. If workouts remain the same, the body becomes more efficient at performing the exercises, saving energy and burning fewer calories. If you change your workout on a constant basis, the body does not have time to "learn" ways to become more efficient. You force the body to work harder, even if the intensity of your workout remains the same. When you force the muscles to work harder, your body becomes stronger at an accelerated rate. The metabolism speeds up and fat is burned much faster. Following the same routine, no matter how hard you do it, will make it much more difficult to take fat off your body.
To summarize:
* Do not allow yourself to be sucked into doing only the exercises that are familiar.
* Change up the days you do each exercise.
* Change the number of reps you do for each exercise.
* Change the venue where you are doing the exercise.
* Change the order you do the exercise.
* Change the type of exercises you do!
